Although Advent is a long way away now, it’s appropriate to put on record what year 7 students at The Corsham School did in December 2018.
They were set a challenge by Mrs E Fairbairn, Year 7 Learning Manager to make, decorate and fill “Reverse Advent Calendars”. Each of the 7 tutor groups had empty boxes to put food donations in rather than, like most Advent calendars, take things out. The groups decorated the boxes with tinsel and colour before filling them with food.
All of the calendars were delivered to the Food Bank on the last day of the Autumn term when the students then helped to date and put away what they had brought – a great way to help others at what is for many people a difficult time of year. Many thanks year 7!
